Symptoms of Nervousness and Anxiety

Expert psychologists are of the opinion that experiencing nervousness and anxiety symptoms is a perfectly normal phenomenon. But today, large number of people are experiencing these symptoms, which are afflicting the younger generation too.
Anxiety, coupled with nervousness, is completely natural if it occurs occasionally. However, if one starts experiencing the symptoms at a greater frequency, then you definitely need to seek medical advice. From a psychologist's point of view, these conditions can be defined as.

Nervousness

It is defined as a state of mind where a person loses his/her self-confidence as a result of depression or stress. It is also a permanent state of mind of a person who has low self-confidence or self-esteem. The treatment for this is also easier than anxiety.

Anxiety

It is a state of mind that leads to nervousness. Anxiety is basically an emotion that is caused out of worry. It is basically an uncertainty regarding some unpleasant event in the near future.

Symptoms

Both these psychological problems have similar symptoms. Among the initial reactions of the body towards uncertainty and tension is nervousness. Anxiety is what follows and remains for a very longer period of time.
One of the earliest symptoms of both these conditions is loss of self-confidence, which is often depicted by a shaking hand. It is seen as a result of the abnormality in the rate of heartbeats. This phenomenon is known as palpitation and is one of the very common symptoms.
If a person is suffering from palpitation, then it can prove to be rather dangerous for the person's cardiac muscles. This symptom may also result into chest pain in the long term. Another symptom that is commonly observed is sweating, which is caused as a result of fluctuations in heartbeats.
On the inside, the body basically starts preparing itself to deal with some threat. The physical or external symptoms that the body starts showing include sweating, paling of the skin, nausea, trembling, and dilation of the pupils.
Panic attack is also one of the symptoms and it occurs when the person is not able to cope with anxiety. It is characterized by extreme fear and irrational increase in the other general symptoms. In fact, people who have stage fright show acute anxiety symptoms when they have to appear or give speech in public.
Long term occurrence of symptoms can prove to be extremely dangerous and may adversely affect the person's digestive and nervous systems. Anxiety is indicated through different signs, like irritability, inability to converse, headaches, pacing, or constantly having negative thoughts.
Fatigue and lethargy, accompanied by a change in the amount of consumption of food, is also often noticed. Depression and withdrawal from social life is also another common symptom that is observed in a nervous person.
Changed or unhealthy lifestyle is one of the prime causes of these symptoms. Anxiety is a result of stress from work pressure, competitive atmosphere at schools, and uncertainty about the future.
